Advantages: Good service, great staff

Disadvantages: some planes have poor leg room for long flights

I recently travelled to Thailand from Norwich airport using KLM.

We flew from Norwich to Amsterdam, then Amsterdam to Bangkok.

The flight from Norwich was a small Fokker 50 jet which left ontime and was a great experience as I had never been on such a small plane. The flight was ontime and the staff were very polite and friendly.

The plane from Amsterdam to Bangkok was a 10 hour flight and I was suprised to find that although the plane was huge the leg room was extremely cramped and claustrophobic. The man in front reclined his seat back the entire journey and the lack of space was very uncomfortable. Being an overnight flight and being that uncomfortable meant no sleep.

However the staff were extremely good and the service was great! It was a bit surreal when the cabin lights came on at 4.00AM and they woke people up asking..Noodles or ice cream?? who wants noodles or ice cream at 4.00AM???? I did have noodles.

Amazingly our bags turned up as the lady did warn us at checking in that sometimes transfer luggage goes missing.

The flight back from Bangkok to Amsterdam was better and we had plenty leg room and was a much more comfortable flight.

The entertainment onboard is not that good as the TV screens are in the isles meaning they can be hard to see depending on where you are sat.

Overall the food was good, the staff were very polite and helpful and I would say that KLM the royal Dutch airways are the best company I have flown with so far.
