How I wish I had read this reveiw site before booking with KLM. Right from the moment of booking the return flight LHR-AMS-JNB, this has been a disaster! The supposed seat reservation, 30 hours before the flight would not allow me to book the second leg and the facility for extra baggage was denied. I phoned and with a disdained reception got no further. Many emails later still nothing. Arrived at LHR early for check-in, but had to wait another two hours before any of their very unhelpful staff turned up. To crown it all, my wife and my combined luggage was 7Kg overweight and had to pay £28 per Kg in excess baggage. Got to AMS and was assigned a seat, seperate from my wife. Absolutely terrible seating position with my knees still bearing the bruises sustained from the seat in front. My knee was hanging into the isle because of lack of space and the hostess managed to crash the trolley into it, leaving me with a sore joint almost two weeks later now. I will be booking another flight with another airline for the return trip, as I could not withstand another experience like this.

Summary: One of the worst experiences of my life.
