Advantages: Excellent staff, customers matter, well looked after and kept informed of all goings on, good planes
Disadvantages: Delays
KLM is the dutch airline who have Amsterdam as their major hub for all their operations. The airline is part of the Skyteam group of airlines also including such airlines as Airfrance, Aeroflot, AeroMexico, Alitalia, Delta, Continental Airlines and more.
KLM is an airline I have used for one main trip with that being my trip over to America a few years ago and I was very impressed with the service I received.
I set off from Glasgow and had to fly to Amsterdam from there and was first met with a problem of a long delay due to the plane meant to be taking me on from Amsterdam to the USA being in for work and no replacement available. The airline simply offered me one of two choices with the options being that I could go home and come back to Glasgow the next morning and be transferred free of charge or fly out to Amsterdam on my scheduled flight and get put up in a 4* hotel with my meals and everything all included compliments of the airline so I decided to take up the second option and was very impressed with what I found on offer.
Once I had got picked up from the hotel to be taken to Amsterdam airport the staff were very helpful and sorted out all of the problems I potentially was going to have and sorted out getting my family (who were flying in from another airport to join up with me) sorted out to be sat beside me.
The airline had many problems to contend with on my trip with my return journey seeing the plane get hit by lightening before take off and blowing its radar system causing it to need repair work to be carried out causing me long delays but I was impressed that they handled it well and offered up information as much as possible and as soon as it was available.
Upon getting back to Amsterdam on my return journey I intervened in a situation where a gentleman was being very aggressive towards a young lady trying to help him and KLM were kind enough to recognise my trying to help their staff by giving me a seat with extra leg room, sorted out phoning home to advise of the delays I had so far experienced and gave me a free drink on board which was much appreciated but really not needed.
The staff were all excellent, cheerful and friendly and looked very smart and professional.
The planes were all very clean, comforable and well maintained and but for the delays all would have been perfect. The delays were coped with well and I was well looked after at all times which is better than most airlines in my experience.

The airline is one I would happily use for my flights again as I know that I would be well looked after and am happy to recommend them as you are always well looked after no matter what.
Summary: A good airline that gets most of its marks for the customer service on offer
