Lauda AirNewest Review: ... along with 20 crew. ~~SERVICE QUALITY~~ Although this was my first flight I felt at ease the moment I sat down and after the initial nervousness of taking off, we were made to feel comfortable and relaxed by the crew. They started with the old hand waving; going through the escape plan and what position to adopt should you wish to kiss your backside goodbye in the event of a crash. Once ... more |

I had my first experience of flying last year (June 2000), discounting the time I fell out of a window when I was little. The experience was made all the more significant because it was a "long-haul" flight to Australia. The first leg of our journey was taken on a Scheduled Vienna Air flight, this was due to connect with the Lauda flight in Vienna. To say I was terrified before I got onto the plane would be an under-statement, but my girlfriend put my mind at rest. Once airborne we spent the first 15 minutes of our flight looking out of the window at London by night (It was a beautiful clear night). There is a story behind the first flight, ... When are the Austrians going to learn? It’s Manchester, pure and simple. It always has been and as far as I can imagine it always will be. And yet, somehow they’re sure it’s Menchester…. My adventure over, I flew back yesterday from Vienna to what is fast becoming my second home, Ringway. From the category you should be able to guess what’s coming next…yep, a lovely little look at Lauda. Checking In ************** I left Manchester at the beginning of June which wasn’t all that long ago, so I can remember most of the details. I checked in at 7am and was pleasantly surprised by the fact that ... Read the complete review

Lauda Air is a small regional airline headquartered in Austria. Niki Lauda (who was Formula 1 world champion three times) founded this airline when he stopped driving F1, and until very recently he was CEO and active pilot of Lauda Air. Lauda Air offer both scheduled flights and charter flights, mainly from and to Vienna, using Boeing 737, 767 and two large 777 (to Miami and Sydney), and for connections within Europe they operate a number of Canadair regional jets. They do operate two daily flights from Manchester to Vienna (one in the morning at 09:00 hrs and one in the evening at 19:00 hrs) using a Canadair regional jet. From Vienna to Manchester ... I went to Australia in June 2000. Although I had been to America in 1995, this flight re-defined the definition of 'long-haul'. Despite the length of the flight (an excruciating 24 hours), we (the passengers) were made to feel as comfortable as possible. The legroom was pretty average, and not a problem for me as I am short anyway. The seats were also reasonably comfortable and you are given blankets and socks in case you get cold. There is plenty of information included, along with the usual duty free magazine, in fact the recent publicity about DVT’s (deep vein thromboses for those not in the know – that is, blood clots that can occur when ...
