Due to my work commitments I get to travel quite a lot, considerably more than I would like to lol. I have travelled to or via Budapest with Malev Airlines for what must have been over 30 times in the last five years. In my experience, Malev is one of the best airlines operating in Eastern Europe. The service you get from Malev is certainly much better and friendlier than the Austrian Airlines or Air France. They are majoritively on time, do not tend to lose your baggage, the food is perfectly edible (and you don't have to pay extra for it like with Wizz) and the planes are comfortable with more leg room than you get on budget airlines. I consider myself a pretty confident flyer but even I was left feeling uneasy and disgruntled after flying with Malev Airlines from London to Budapest. Inside, the plane was particularly grubby and the food was inedible. The crew were rude and disinterested. As we came in to land and were close to the runway we suddenly climbed again and flew around for another ten minute. This made many passages feel uneasy but no explanation was given. However, my main concern was after I left the plane. My luggage failed to appear and I approached the Malev representative to investigate.
