Advantages: Just about the only UK-Florence flights.
Disadvantages: Not cheap
Meridiana is an Italian Airline which operates between Florence and Gatwick three times daily. It is not a "no frills" outfit; meals and drinks are provided and tickets issued, so it is not cheap. Last year, my fare was £160 inc taxes, this year, £170.50 - return in both cases and Apex, so they were fixed as to which particular flight I took. However, I cannot speak too highly of the service they provide. Thay use BAe 126 aircraft which hold about 100 passengers, so loading and unloading is quick and easy. The cabin staff charming and attentive and mostly very attractive.

- 31/07/01 I should add that the next time I go to Tuscany, I'll fly Ryan Stansted to Pisa - not such a nice airline, but SO much cheaper. It helps that I live north of London. |

- 31/07/01 They get you from Gatwick to Florence with ease and efficiency - what else should they do? I am sorry all to bits if you need details of what an aeroplane is. |

- 14/07/01 You say you cannot speak too highly of the service thye provide but give no specific examples. If you are going to comment on service (which is often the most important factor in choosing a product) then it is helpful if we can have some details. |
