Monarch airlines I found the staff rude not only on the plane but also in the airport, we didn't get one smile from the woman checking us in and she was saying the check in information like a robot. It had obviously been a long day for her. We were flying to Malaga so we had a good 3 ½ hour flight ahead of us but were still looking forward to it.

Ignoring the woman me and my partner went to the departure lounge and had a drink only to hear insults coming from every direction. One of the monarch flights had been cancelled due to snow and the staff were not giving them any information. Our flight was an early one so there were only about 200 people in the lounge but most of them were annoyed.

We then got called forward to board by yet another robotic voice and the woman who took our tickets must have been under the influence that if she smiled she might loos her job!!! We ignored it again.

Once on the plane the seat pitch was awful it's 28-29" being 6ft 1 and 6ft 4 that's not enough my partner couldn't get his knees in and had to sit sideways.

I will say one good thing about Monarch - we found the food on board lovely we had a toasted Panini!! You have to try them no other airline we have been on short haul has offered them.

Summary: Ok for budget airline but the staff are miserable
