I travel regulary with Monarch airways (from Manchester to Malaga) and am always happy with the service they offer and the price i am charged for the flights.
From check in to disembarking of the plane staff are always friendly and helpful.
Despite only being on the plane for less than three hours, in flight there are a number of opportunities to purchase drinks, food and snacks and duty free goods.
Seating is basic and there is not much room however compared to some of the other budget airlines ( I have travelled on quite a few), i have to say monarch is like luxury.
Price wise, Monarch are one of the higher end priced budget airlines. as a result the service is much better. Therefore, i am always prepered to pay a little extra for the better service and comfort.
Look out for offers and slashed prices on the website or sign up for email alets for offers.
Overall a good service.

Summary: You get what you pay for!!!
