Long delays (Monarch Airlines)

Advantages: Good check in

Disadvantages: Constant delay record

We have travelled by Monarch Airlines on numerous occasions mainly departing from Gatwick Airport. We have always found the check in procedure to be reasonably quick and efficient. However if it is a very rare occurrence for the aircraft to take off on time and once we had a delay of 10 hours although this was exceptional. generally our delays are between 60 and 90 minutes. on boarding the aircraft we found the leg pitch to be about average for charter flights The food is very plastic and tasteless as is a low standard. the entertainment on the televisions does not match up to its competitors like Thomson's airlines, and Thomas Cook airlines. The cabin crew like any other profession vary tremendously but generally they carry out their duties in an efficient and mechanical manner. The cleanliness of the aircraft has always been acceptable.Out of choice I probably would not choose to fly with Monarch but that is mainly due to their atrocious delay record

Summary: Not my first choice to fly by.
