Disadvantages: Poor legroom and food
Fly with Monarch for one reason and one reason only - because they are cheap! There isn't a great deal more going for them!
They are a British airline company and fly from Manchester, Luton, Birmingham and London Gatwick airports.
I use Monarch each year when I fly out to Ibiza for the summer season and I only fly with them because the days that they fly out to Ibiza suit me and also it is cheap and every pound saved goes to a night out in Ibiza.
The food on Monarch airlines is probably the worst airline food I have ever had so if you are flying with them then don't ask for food, you will save more money and save yourself from having an upset stomach!
The seats are extremely hard and made of a leather like material that on most planes is very worn and has lots of bits where other people have picked at them and pulled bits off.
There is not much legroom on monarch planes so I wouldn't recommend you use them for long flights as you will have to keep getting up to walk around all the time. Then when you want to walk there is not much room to walk about. This is why I no longer use Monarch for the longer flights and just stick to the European flights as it doesn't matter so much if you are only on there for a few hours.
The staff that work for Monarch are some of the best I have experienced though. They made sure we had everything we wanted and they were also extremely friendly.
Overall I would say that Monarch isn't a great airline, but I do fly with them each year, but as previously mentioned this is due to their cheap price and flight times. If easyjet went from Manchester airport to Ibiza I would probably fly with them instead.
Summary: Only use for short flights if you are on a budget
