Excellent international flight (Northwest)

Advantages: Excellent service, nice planes, great entertainment!

Disadvantages: Not flying direct from Manchester

We flew Northwestern from Amsterdam to Minneapolis then on an internal flight Minneapolis to LAX. (this was a code share with KLM)

International flight:

It was quite a big plane and I think it was configured 2-5-2 we were in a 2.

This was excellent flight. Check in was easy as we had done it on line, just had to bag drop. Boarding was the usual queue of people that start a line before their section has been called but we were soon on and seated. There was a reasonable amount of leg room, I'm tall and was relived to be able to stretch out a bit. We left on time and had a very smooth ride.

Entertainment-seat-back tv's with movies and games on demand....this was excellent and it all worked I used my ipod headphones which was good as they don't normally fit airline sockets! Good range of movies, always something to watch.

Food-surprisingly good there were 3 choices, beef chicken or veggie, I had veggie which was a lovely pasta...I don't think i've ever used the term lovely to describe airline food before! Refreshements were regularly available and you could approach the kitchen if you needed anything.

Staff; older ladies mainly and a couple of men, all were very friendly and helpful.

Plane was fairly new and was clean, which is always good!!!

On landing the staff associated with NWA were all helpful and friendly.

Internal Flight:

Small plane configured 3-3

Plane was packed and you really felt it, this flight was getting on for 4hrs and it was cramped! Refreshments were limited which was fine.

I wasn't feeling too good, it was my 3rd flight that day and I just wanted to get to LA so I just tried to sleep.

No entertainment at all, staff were still good though.

Overall I was really impressed with NWA this is the first time we'd flown with them and would definitely fly with them again. The international flight was particularly good. I was very impressed!

All flights were on time and arrived early.

Summary: Great experience on long haul
