A good airline (Northwest)

Advantages: Excellent staff, comfortable & clean & well maintained planes, good range of destinations

Northwest was the first airline I flew with way back when I was just a wee lad (about 10-15 years ago) and my parents had decided to take me out to the USA to go to Florida and its theme parks and also head along the Mississippi for a short visit with family but the experience has always stuck with me as one of excellence.

Northwest Airlines is an airline who operate across the world but of recent times have somewhat shrunk their operations outside of the USA. The airline themselves are one of the big airlines of the USA with it not unusual to see it's red and white colourings around the terminal gates of some of the bigger airports out there (the likes of Chicago, Florida, New York, Memphis, etc) and it is one of the airlines I know a lot of people trust.
Anyway, back to my experience...the journey I took with Northwest was seeing a total of 3 flights there and 3 flights back with my start and end points being Glasgow International and Florida Sanford. Check in experience at Glasgow was nice and quick with friendly and helpful staff who were smarty turned out and customer focussed. The plane itself was nice, clean and had good seating with pretty good leg room which was a nice thing to have found when on a long haul flight. The in flight service was brilliant with the staff very cheeful and helpful and the food and drinks on offer very good.
What about the price paid then? Well Northwest were not the cheapest airline but also certainly not the most expensive and for the quality on offer and drinks and food provided I felt it was very reasonable.
The flights themselves were comfortable and the landings were well done (something I have not always experienced). The staff were all very good and the ease of which you could use the services was something that I have found to not be a minimum expectation with airlines as you will normally find yourself disappointed.

Overall a good experience and an airline I would happily use again.
