Northwest was the first airline I flew with way back when I was just a wee lad (about 10-15 years ago) and my parents had decided to take me out to the USA to go to Florida and its theme parks and also head along the Mississippi for a short visit with family but the experience has always stuck with me as one of excellence. We flew Northwestern from Amsterdam to Minneapolis then on an internal flight Minneapolis to LAX. (this was a code share with KLM) International flight: It was quite a big plane and I think it was configured 2-5-2 we were in a 2. This was excellent flight. Check in was easy as we had done it on line, just had to ... Read the complete review

I flew with North West Airlines for an internal flight after flying into Las Vegas. Check in was quick and easy, with a very friendly member of staff who tried her hardest to get me onto an earlier flight (which wasn't possible unfortuantly). The flight was very late at night and there was hardly anyone on it, only about 10 people. The hostess on ... Read the complete review

I have flown by NWA a total of four times, direct flights between gatwick and detroit. Always economy. I took my first flight with this company, an 8 hour haul transatlantic and I was reassured and comforted by their incredibly helpful and friendly staff. They greet you with smiles and see you off with the same. They are always willing ... Read the complete review

Northwest Airlines were cheaper than all other airlines, despite none of our flights being direct. We flew into Orlando international via Detroit and out of Atlanta via Minneapolis. Our internal flights between Orlando and Atlanta were with a different airline. Northwest staff were some of the most helpful I have ever found, pre-boarding was easy ... Read the complete review

When deciding upon a choice of carrier for our return trip to Las Vegas in June, price rather than past experience was the key, and not wanting to part with £1000 each for return flights with Virgin Atlantic my wife and I elected to fly with Northwest Airlines (NWA). Personally I had never heard of them, but managed to read one review prior to ... Read the complete review

It is a fact of life that every single individual aircraft makes a slightly diffrent noise. No two, say, Boeing 747s make the same noise when you're onboard. Yet every NWA plane makes a tremendous din - like there's something wrong with the engine. Which sounds likely, once you've read this. UPDATE 12/8/03: Since I first ... Read the complete review

The background! A few years ago my father decided he'd had enough of Geordieland and went over to live in America, from that point on all my available holiday and cash has been used for visiting him over there. I visit the states 2-3 times a year and I tend to have to fly with the cheapest option available. Living in the North ... Read the complete review

Having just returned from a trip to Las Vegas via Minneapolis, all on NW, I am NEVER getting on a NW flight again. - attendants rude, disinterested, insulting in one case - and others in our party on another NW flight thought the same - seat pitch tiny compared to BA/AA - no choice on seat allocation despite being at the airport ... After travelling to Washington with Northwest I guarantee I will never do it again. The planes are old and falling to bits, the food is awful and the staff are rude. A colleague was addressed by the staff as "Fat boy" and I was ignored when I used the call button. No airline can possibly be worse. I would suggest that even if ... Read the complete review

I have been flying Northwest for several years and they are a really good airline. They have one of the best ontime records again and their alliance with KLM and Continental can take you about anywhere in the world! a year or two ago during an extended trip to America I used North-West airlines a lot because of their partnership with KLM and thus the fact that the airmiles earned were interchangeable. I already had KLM miles so I thought it would be a good way of consolidating them. Northwest Airlines did not distinguish themselves positively in any ... Read the complete review

Last summer I was flying with NW (NorthWest) around America. I flew about 10 times and five of them the take off was an hour or more to late. I did not get any information about what was happening neither when it was planed to take of. Also the speakers in the aeroplane are so bad the even if you they try to tell you something you can't hear. ... Read the complete review

This is my second favourite airline in the world, just behind BA. The seats are very comftable and the entertainment is very good. The food was excellent however they could offer drinks a bit more often. They are linked with KLM so if you are Dutch or fly KLM a lot this is the airline for you. You can only fly to Detroit or Minneapolis from ... Read the complete review

NorthWest has old planes, an ordinary standard of service, and the food is not too great. The planes themselves are scruffy inside and I would not like to ask how old the last one I flew on was....I would try to fly with another carrier if the price was the same, and would only go with NorthWest again if the price was much cheaper than the other ... Northwest Airlines has Detroit Metro Airport pretty well sewn up. If you want to fly non-stop between London and Detroit you have two scheduled choices, BA and Northwestern. As BA only has one flight a day NWA cleans up as through its partnership with KLM and their deals with UK Air it can take you from most major UK airposts via ... Read the complete review

North West is part owned by KLM, and flies to hundreds of US & Canadian cities daily ex Gatwick (change aircraft in Mineappolis or Detroit). Where is the best place to buy tickets on North West? Northwest Airlines has picked up the nickname of NorthWorst Airlines by many...even having its own web site purely for people to complain about the airline!!
