Safe, but not exactly enjoyable
Author Name: Anne-Laure Radas
Advantages: Quite cheap, usually on time and planes are OK
Disadvantages: Disorganised when facing a pb ; no entertainement, food or drinks on board ; poor customer service
I travelled on Pegasus Airlines three times since last september. Usually planes are on time, and comfort is OK. However, no food or drinks are offered on board, and the only Entertainment, broadcasted on their screens, are advertisements for Pegasus Airlines. No personal screens of course, but not even radio channels. You have to come with your own entertainment, and food/drinks. They do not seem too concerned about security ; I always had to ask two, three times before they provided me with a security belt for my baby (once, the plane had started taking off when they finally brought it). The planes themselves seemed just fine, except for the wheels of the last plane which flattened out and had to be replaced just before my last flight (6h hours delay...). The motor on one of the planes was very loud and, according to the person sitting next to me whose job is to make and maintain plane motors, it sounded old as well. Last but not least, I would say Pegasus Airlines are not good at handling problems : whenever one occurs, they seem very disorganised and not able to figure out proper solutions for their customers (they do however offer food/drinks and hotel in cas of very long delays, as they are supposed to). It is, of course, impossible to contact their support center, thay answer neither to emails nor to phone calls. Also, do lock any luggage that you check in, I used not to, but things were stolen from my suitcase during my last trip with them. Could just be custom officers, it is hard to know, but bear in mind that this may happen while flying with Pegasus.
Summary: Low cost but also low service
