TAP Air Portugal
by Pattybugnoli I flew to Lisbon on business last week with Tap, the Portuguese airline. The reason why I flew with them is that their fare was cheaper than BA. Check in was very fast, but I was disappointed that they could not change me reservati seat. I normally prefer aisles, but I had been given a window. However, I managed to ... call my agent and remind them I should be given aisles and they fixed it for the return. I did not manage to go the lounge on time and went t the gate after shopping at the airport, the flight took off more or less on time and we also landed on time, on the return flight there was an announced delay of 10 min, but I think it was more 30 and we landed 15 min after schedule. Staff welcomed us on board and made efforts to assist with hand luggage. I was offered uk and portuguese newspapers and there were also a couple of magazines on board. The in flight magazine is in english and portuguese, but I found it a bit boring. Food was better on the way back and the wine good on both journeys. I travelled with hand luggage only, so cannot comment on luggage delivery. At first glance their reward scheme seems less rewarding than BA, but these days it all depends on how much they charge you with extra ful charges and all that kind of stuff. TAP Air Portugal
by justog I am a frequent flyer, who has been travelling to Brazil from UK on business and pleasure, about 3 times a year, for the last 16 year. I have not travelled to Brazil with TAP for over 10 years but since TAP has joined the Star Alliance, I have decided to try it again. Unfortunately, I have to say that I’ve had the worst travel experience ... of my life! My flight to Fortaleza was 3 hours late but my return was far worse. After over 7 hours from my scheduled time (longer than my flight from Brazil), I have finally reached London! The worst of all this dreadful experience was that during the whole time I did not feel anybody cared or tried to do anything to alleviate my inconvenience! Also, the fact that I was travelling Business Class and have a Star Alliance Gold card did not make any difference. During my transfer, when I complained to the “GroundForce” staff (I later found out that they are a TAP subsidiary), they told me that they were not TAP staff and they could not do anything about it but there was no TAP staff to help! Repeatedly, they reinforced that they were not TAP staff and the only TAP desk was after immigration at the check-in desk! My feeling is that staff believes that customers travelling to Brazil do not deserve any attention and treat them with total contempt. Since my return, I have been monitoring the TAP flights to Brazil and it seems that a 2-3 hours delay is a norm! If only I knew this before I travelled with them. Read the complete review |

TAP Air Portugal
by edisonuk I go to Portugal very often and always try to go with TAP. They seem to be quite consistent in quality and service and there flight times are good.I 've never experinced severe delays and baggage handling has been ok. Not all experiences have been great, but then tell me an airline that gets it right each and every time. ... On my most resent flight the food had greatly improved since the last time I had flown with them, as I think the airline was experiencing real financial difficulties and were making some cut backs to quantity and quality. They served up a hot meal which was tasty, with helpings of fresh bread, a few bottles of wine and some barley sugars on landing. The staff were friendly although some do look as though they've been doing it for a few years too long, but polite none the less. The in-flight magazine 'Atlantis' always makes for an interesting read and the in flight information on the modern screens gives up to date flight info and destination advice. The aircrafts are always clean and modern but the staff uniforms could really do with an update. On the whole a good national airline that does Portugal proud. Recommended. Read the complete review |
