After reading so many negative reviews of Qatar Airways I felt compelled to write a decent review and stick up for them!

I flew with Qatar from London Heathrow to Doha and then onto Bangkok.

I had an amazing experience with them in economy.

FOOD
I was surprised to be offered a choice of food for main courses, even for Breakfast! (maybe I'm just used to budget airlines!) Sometimes the choice was actually really hard to make, because both options sounded pretty good. Breakfast was really filling- a yoghurt, croissant with jam and butter, bread/bagel with cream cheese, main dish (crepes/frittata for my flight), water and a fruit salad. You also get a snack which is a sandwich and mine had beef in it. I didn't eat it because to be honest it didn't look that great, but hey, it was just the snack.

STAFF
I always found staff super friendly and one even joked around with me a bit. They seem genuinely happy in their jobs. On the way back from Bangkok I was slightly overweight but the lady at the check in desk was perfectly patient and let me take things out of my hand luggage to put in my main bag, which was then overweight too but she didn't' say anything about that when she could easily have made me pay for it!

SEATING & ENTERTAINMENT
I found the seats fine- leg room wasn't a problem for me. The main thing I loved about my flights with Qatar was the entertainment system they have going on. You can pick out of films, games, tv shows and music. Films- there are both old and new releases, foreign films, and films for children. There wasn't a huge selection of TV shows to watch on flights without touch screens, but on the touch screen ones you can even watch things like CSI which I enjoyed. I didn't play any games but there seemed to be a fair choice of things to play, and with regards to the music there were literally hundreds of artists from a huge range of genres to pick form. The thing I thought was really cool was that you can make playlists out of the music on offer, so if you don't have your MP3 player with you you can still just listen to music and chill out.

OTHER
Another nice touch was the pack they give you after you first sit down. You get a pillow, blanket, and small bag with headphones, socks, ear plugs, toothbrush and toothpaste and an eye mask. I really thought that this was extremely thoughtful and also useful- it was nice to be able to freshen up in the bathroom on a long flight, and they give you everything you need to have a decent night's sleep!

Summary: Amazing airline with friendly staff and great entertainment for all!
