Advantages: You can get a bargain if you fly on your own and without luggage

Disadvantages: Not cheap for families, not free for babies, no free priority boarding for babies

Ryanair used to be very cheap, not anymore!

I've used this airline from 1999 to fly from England to France and back. To tell you the truth Ryanair has enabled me to visit my family and friends on a regular basis and cheaper than with any other airlines.

Well it did at first anyway. Then they came up with all kind of new fees which just kept increasing the price of the flight.

Ryanair is still great if you're travelling on your own and don't need to check in luggage but let's face it, most people do need to check in their luggage.

I've found since becoming a mother that Ryanair has been very unfair towards families. You can no longer board first with a baby, you have to buy a priority pass (for each person ie mother and baby).

Under 2 do not travel for free anymore even though they still have to sit on your lap. Ryanair have come up with extortionate admin fees. You now pay £16 each way for an under 2 child.
The luggage check-in fees have increased too.

Meaning that last time I booked a flight for me and my son, mine was much cheaper than his... So if he was 2, he's actually travel for cheaper and have his own seat. Very logical, isn't it? (NOT)

I've also found a lot of the staff are either miserable or unwilling to help.

I recently tried Jet2.com and can tell you despite being a cheap airline, the staff are really welcoming and wonderful.

Take note Ryanair.
