Cheap airline, no frills (Ryanair)

Advantages: Can travel for low fares Disadvantages: You get what you pay for, extras are expensive
Ryanair can work out as a fantastic way to travel on a budget. However, be careful because if you don't 'check and go' before your flight, that is print your boarding card off from the website before you travel, you will be charged 40 pounds at the airport. They also charge ridiculous amounts if you want to put your luggage in the hold rather than just take hand luggage. They are very strict on their hand luggage as well, only one bag, and everything has to fit into this eg. handbags and laptops etc. Their planes are very basic, the emergency landing information is on the back of your chair which means when you fly you are constantly staring at cartoons of people in an emergency, great! There is not much leg room and there is no holder on your seat to put magazines etc in. There is also no inflight entertainment on most flights, the flights that do have it charge about 7-10 pounds to watch a movie. The food is not very appetizing on the flight so I would recommend taking your own. The staff have mostly been pleasant on my flights though they sometimes are very insistent on where you sit. Everything is a bit of a rush too due to their fast turn around times. Summary: Use it for short haul trips and just take hand luggage |
