Cheap .... and that makes me cheerful!!! (Ryanair)

Advantages: VERY cheap if you can be flexible with departure times

Disadvantages: Additional charges can drive the price up

Ryanair attracted my attention with the £1 flights offers a few months back. Living in the mainland UK with my family in Northen Ireland I found this very interesting! I was able to buy two return tickets for £4 INC TAX as we could be flexible with our departure dates/times.

As I have an Electron card I didn't have a payment charge added (usually £5 per flight, which would have added £20 to the cost.) We also didn't check any bags, which would have added another £20 per person - the cabin luggage allowance is sufficient for a small case.

Flew out from East Midlands Airport into Belfast City Airport. Both were plesant, clean and efficient. I did notice there where no numbers on the seats... an airbus in the truest sense of the word - don't worry they DO have seat belts and a safety demo!

It is certainly 'no frills' but I don't need frills on a 50minute flight! After my experience, I took advantage of the recent £5 flight offer and purchased four return flights for less than £50 INC TAX! Definately worth trading peanuts and a mini can of cola for!!!

Summary: If all you want is transport from A to B, then this is for you!
