Advantages: Cheap and cheerful
Disadvantages: its reputation can be bad
Recently Ryanair has been having some stick lately about it's one pound flights and it's poor service. But can i just say if you are paying a pound for a flight WHAT DO YOU EXPECT!!! That you are waited on, hand and foot! Ryanair may be a cheap and cheerful airline but it is definatley not the worst.
Ryanair is an Irish low cost airline and operates over 190 Boeing 737's on 830 routes across Europe and North Africa from its 33 bases. Ryanair is the third-largest airline in Europe in terms of passenger numbers and the world's largest in terms of international passenger numbers.
I use Ryanair fairly frequently as every year i go on holiday with my friends and as we are all students we can not afford the expensive holidays or cruises we prefer to go on Ryan air as it cuts down the cost. We have been doing this for around 3 years now and WE HAVE HAD NO PROBLEM! in fact the stewardess' are probably better and more helpful than other non budjet airlines.
The best deal i had was going to the centre of Milan, Italy (which can be up to 400 pounds on some airlines) for only 25 pounds return. In britian these days you can't get a taxi for less than that.
New Ryanair aircraft have been delivered with leather seats which do not recline, no seat-back pockets, safety cards stuck on the back of the seats and life jackets stowed overhead rather than under the seat. This allows the airline to save on aircraft costs and enables faster cleaning and safety checks during the short turnaround times.
Overall Ryanair has been given a bad rep that is throughly undiserved.
Summary: A good cheap and cheerful airline!
