Man... Ryanair... part of me loves and and then the rest of me... well they really wind me up!
Last year i went on a short trip to Milan, the airport Ryanair use (Malpensa) is about as close to Milan as Stansted is to London.. not close. Anyway the bus there (I only returned Ryanair) was easy to find at the central station and really cheap (not 100% but less than Euro5), the bus was comfortable.
IT TOOK AN HOUR.
There was no traffic, its just cos Ryanair won't pay for an airport near to a city. Anyway.
The flight was half full and I was travelling alone... its essential Britishness to want to sit alone. This was not allowed. Half the seats in the flight were blocked off with the lap trays. The stewardess advised me it was impossible to let me sit at the back away from everyone because it would cause an imbalance during take off and landing... LIES, utter lies. My 10 stone was no risk to airline safety... it would have been a risk to the staff having to clear a whole plane though.
Ryanair, don't treat me like a idiot please and think I won't notice.
Summary: Mind where you sit

- 12/08/09 As the previous member to comment says, there is good reason for the seats being blocked off.
Not a review, just some complaints |

- 11/08/09 This is more a rant than a review. More detail would be good - e.g. booking, check-in, landing, meals, other staff interaction - would earn a U or VU.
Also, plane structure demands a certain amount of balance to stay in the sky. While allowing you to sit alone would have been totally ok, the stewards would then have had to allow everyone to choose their seats. Balancing a half full plane would then have been an impossible task. |
