Advantages: Good value for money, Friendly, Clean
Disadvantages: Destination not alway what it seems, They need more supervision by the industry
Ryanair started a new flight from our local airport, to Frankfurt. We had never been to Germany before so the opportunity for both of us to go, for less than £25 each return was too good to miss. We decided to take a short holiday, only for few days just to look around, so booked a flight and booked a hotel. I didn?t realise until after booking the tickets, that Ryanair didn?t actually fly to Frankfurt, but somewhere called Frankfurt Hahn, about an hour away. Ryanair do provide a transfer bus, but this would have taken most of the trip. Apparently this is the case with a lot of their flights, and now they have been forced to sell the flights as Frankfurt Hahn, but from my point of view its still not clear enough. The flight was on time, and the staff were friendly, I have heard different stories, but I didn?t see anything to persuade me otherwise. I think we had the right attitude towards these budget airlines, treat them as a bus, because at the end of the day that?s what service they are providing. If you view them like this you won?t be disappointed. If you want guaranteed times, more service and refunds then BA and Virgin are the ones to aim at. If you want value for money, then you get what you pay for, and don?t expect anything else. Ryaniar have had a lot of problems from the media, especially Watchdog. In some ways they do need a wakeup call and have their basic service outlined fully and stick by this, but everyone does need to realise that its these companies that have helped reduce fairs. BMI have now even followed suit, with BMIBaby, who I fly with in 2 months. How long before we see budget BA and Virgin flights, all I can say is sooner rather than later I hope. These budget airlines have helped so many people travel to new places, which previously were far to expensive for a working family. I think they need some credit, but again, the airlines need to impose some fall back to help passengers when things do g
o wrong.

- 07/08/02 Here's a tip, which you're free to take or ignore. Spend a little more time fleshing out your ops, write more on the details, and you'll get a lot more reads. For example, you say the service was good but you don't elaborate on what you liked about it. Your writing style is good, if you add more then you'll see much greater rewards. |

- 07/08/02 Sorry for the low rating, but there's very little detail about Ryanair itself here. Maybe submitting this only seven minutes after your last op wasn't such a great idea. |
