I was a bit wary on booking a flight with Ryanair. It souded all very strange, you book a flight which is incredibly cheap, pay for it, and then there is no ticket, just a confirmation that you print and take with you for check in. The first time I heard it I thought they were going to run away with my money and it was all a scam. But this one time I was brave enough to book a flight to Paris from Glasgow Prestwik. My heart was in my hands, thinking I was going to get to the airport and have no plane or airline, silly of me I know, but that's the sort of things cross your mind when you find bargains too good to be true.
Pleasantly surprised I was. The airport was actually quite nice and everything seemed to be very well organised. Check in was unrushed and very smooth, and you can seat anywhere you want on the plane.
Beauvais airport, in France, is quite far from Paris and Ryanair organises buses that will take everybody to Paris. There is a charge for it I it's cheaper and easier than getting a taxi from Charles de Gaulle. The same thing on the way back to Beauvais airport, and as long as you catch that bus you'll catch the flight as all passengers are there.
I was even more surprised when I found out that British Rail offers discounted rail tickets to Ryanair passengers back to Glasgow (or wherever people live).
Even though they class themselves as no frills I would rate them quite high compared to some national airlines.
