Advantages: Nice spacious seats, inflight entertainment and good quality food.

Singapore Airlines operates from Changi Airport in Singapore. It offers 66 destinations all around the world. Singapore Airlines has a fleet size of 97 planes and a further 82 on order. Singapore Airlines headquarters are located in the city Singapore in Singapore. Singapore Airlines was founded in 1947 as Malayan Airways and can now be found on airfields under the names SQ for IATA (International Aviation Transport Association) or SIA for ICAO (International Civil Aviation Organization).

Singapore Airlines fleet consist of the following planes,

* 19 orders on the Airbus 330-300
* 5 Airbus 340-500
* 20 orders on the Airbus 350-900
* 3 planes and 16 orders on the Airbus 380-800
* 18 Boeing 747-400
* 46 Boeing 777-200ER
* 12 Boeing 777-300
* 14 planes and 5 orders on the Boeing 777-300ER
* 20 orders on the Boeing 787-900

Singapore Airlines offers 5 different classes to be seated in: Suites, First class, Business class, premium economy and economy.

There are 3 known accidents and/or incidents that have occurred to Singapore Airlines and in total of 187 people and 121 people have managed to survive. These figures are amazing as Singapore Airlines has operated for 61 years now.

My experience with Singapore Airlines,

I think Singapore Airlines is a great company, it is reliable as the departure times where on time or early and the crew was very friendly. Seats are spacious in economy class on the long haul planes like the Boeing 747-400 and amazing in on the new A380.

Food is offered onboard on most flight in the form of breakfast and dinner. For dinner in economy class you get a plate with a three course meal which mostly include the following: salad, main and a desert. Food is very nice in my opinion as I love Asian food. If you fly from Europe to Singapore dinner is served at local Singapore times which is good as you start getting used to the time difference.

All planes of Singapore Airlines are well looked after. The average age of the fleet is 6.5 years old and changes are made frequently. The planes have a neat paint colour which hasn't peeled of and no loose parts.

Prices of Singapore Airlines are higher then other airline companies and hardly ever lower or in the same range, however you can drink as much alcohol or soft drinks on most long haul flights which is included in the price and the quality and standards is much higher then other flights and so are the seats.

Some larger planes to destinations further away do have the availability of personal TV-screens which is good as you wont get bored that easily and that makes you fly again with them. First class has ridiculous sized TV screens which is really cool.
The crew I flew with was very nice and fairly young. They where all very helpful and made sure I had a good time on my flight to Singapore Airlines.

Summary: Great company with a nice fleet recommended to fly
