Advantages: spacious, good entertainment throughout flight.

Disadvantages: could go hungry if you miss your main meals.

My first encounter with Singapore airlines was 3 weeks ago flying to Thailand (Phuket) for Christmas.

First off, the room space in the economy class is actually quite generous and I was pleasantly suprised, this along with the small adjustable foot rest made my outbound journey as comfortable as possible on such a long haul flight (13.5 hours to Singapore then a further 1.3 hours to Phuket).

The cabin crew were extremely friendly and curteous, I asked for additional pillows for my back along with some extra blankets as I was sat near the exit door which was quite cold, and they happily gave them to me with no problems what so ever.

One of the main enjoyable things I experienced on my flight was the personal tv screen which gave you a choice of the latest blockbuster movies along with a library of older films, Tv shows and video games. I can honestly say that this made part of my journey as I get bored quite easily and this certainly kept me entertained throughout my flight.

The meals on the plane were reasonable, with vegetarian options available along with special meals (which have to be ordered at check in). What I did find though is that I found myself to be hungry again after a few hours, they do come round with snacks but by the time they got to me there wasn't anything that I liked, I also found that on my return journey, the plane was pretty much empty and the cabin crew didn't seem to come round with drinks/snacks as often.


Over all I had a pleasant journey with Singapore airlines and I would certainly travel with them again.
