Advantages: Excellent Service, Freindly Crew, Good Safety Record, Lovely touches.

Disadvantages: Sometimes expensive, though often the cheapest option.

I have been on four flights operated by Singapore Airlines, from London Heathrow to Singapore and then on to Brisbane and then from Brisbane to Singapore and back to London. It has to be said that this is possibly one of the best airlines I have flown with in terms of the service they provided - hands down, the best service I have experienced in the sky.

SIA (Singapore International Airlines) is a large and popular international airport, based around Changi Airport in Singapore. It is a very popular airline for people wishing to experience Asia, and Australia, perhaps more than other airlines because of the niceness of Singapore as a City for a stop over on such long-haul flights. SIA was one of the original skytrax five star airlines and is well reputed for five star service.

My experience was very good. Nice aircraft, modern looking interiors, an amazing inflight entertainment system with all of the latest television, film and music and cabin staff that respond as soon as soon you summon them from your remote control. Interestingly I flew with KLM recently, and no matter how often you pressed the button, no cabin crew member showed up.

There were no delays, the Cabin Staff were well dressed and had excellent communication skills and there were a lot of touches that I think were really nice. For example they routinely brought around hot towels on a tray, which they dispensed with tongs, and these were very refreshing. My own favourite touch was when they brought around huge chunky Solero ice lollies and handed them out to every passenger - a small touch, but it really did make the journey more pleasurable.

The food was very good on all of my Singapore Airlines flights. Not especially rubbery like some airline food, and prepared by some well known cheffs from various parts of the world. There is also an extensive drinks list.

The inflight duty free shopping is really good, because they always bring around the trolley on the flights. Some airlines provide the catalogue of items in the seat pouch, but on the majority of flights, fail to bring around the trolley. This was never an issue on my Singapore Airlines flights.

Definately an amazing experience, great attention to safety, regular easy to understand announcements - great service in general! They are the first to fly the A380, illustrating the responsibilities they hold within the industry and hopefully, the flying experience on these newer aircraft will only be better still.

Summary: Absoloutely brilliant experience!
