Advantages: Seat-back TV, Excellent food, Friendly Staff

Disadvantages: Seats larger but still small for long flight!

Last year I had the pleasure of flying with Singapore Airlines to Bali through Kuoni travel. I had made several long haul flights before - some even chartered, which I do not recommend!

I must admit, as much as I was looking forward to the holiday, I was not looking forward to that amount of time on a plane. My first contact with Singapore Airlines was six months before flying. I had noticed that a lot of airlines now let you book extra legroom seats so I gave them a call. I was in for a pleasant surprise. There would be no problem booking them in advance, no fee to pay and they even gave me a confirmation number over the phone for the emergenvy exit seats. Very helpful.

On arrival at Heathrow all went smoothly at check-in and we got the extra legroom as promised. All cabin crew wore authentic dress and we were greeted with smiles all the way.

The seats were large for economy compared to other flights we had taken. We were given a 'comfort pack' for the flight consisting of socks, toothbrush & toothpaste, headphones a pillow and blanket. Hot flannels were bought round to freshen up with.

the best feature of the flight had to be the on-board entertainment. seat back Tv's provided you with individual viewing choice. An assortment of movies and short features started every two hours and you just took your pick! Great - no more watching something you had seen, didn't want to watch or waiting hours between movies. You also had the option of audio channels, watching the flightpath or playing games as the tv remote also doubled as a handset.

You could also make a call if you wanted from your personal seat phone. This however was extremely expensive rating at about $5 a minute.

Excellent food (authentic asian mostly)free drinks, friendly cabin crew and good entertainment made this long flight more bearable and I would definitely fly with Singapore Airlines again.
