Advantages: Cheap and good service
Disadvantages: Limited routes from the UK and lack of frills, price can mount up with luggage
** UPDATE **
A little note if you're planning to use SkyEurope. They've apparently been having some financing problems and have reduced their fleet size. This is causing the cancellation of flights (they just cancelled 2 of mine for next month). I don't know exactly how many cancellations they are making or how much trouble they are in, but would like to pass on that cancellations are happening. Thanks
Skyeurope are a Slovakian airline with hubs in Prague (Czech Republic), Vienna (Austria), Bratislava and Kosice (Slovakia).
From the UK they fly from Manchester and London Luton (they also used to include Birmingham but they don't seem to at the moment). They have destinations throughout Europe, though direct flights from the UK are limited.
I've used Skyeurope on 7 occasions so far, never paying more than 25 Euros for a flight (including the taxes!). Of those 7 flights only one has encountered a delay, an hour in Vienna.
The service on Skyeurope is your standard budget airline stuff, except you will be allocated a seat at checkin so there's no mad dash to grab a seat when boarding :-). You can pick seats when booking, but there is a fee for this.
Drinks and snacks cost money, so save a little and bring your own. Checking in a bag used to be free but that incurs a charge now too.
The seating is as comfortable as you would expect (my neck always hurts if I've fallen asleep!), seats seem to be leather and are usually a lot cleaner than I find on some airlines.
The cabin crew have always been friendly, the atmosphere relaxed.
As mentioned, Skyeurope provide everything you would expect from a budget airline, but where they really win me over is on price. They regularly have promotions, so get yourself on their mailing list. They always quote flight prices with taxes and charges included. Obviously during a promotion you won't find every seat for £10, but if you look around you'll find some keen deals.
Summary: Cheap enough to make me forget I had to bring my own sandwich
