TERRIBLE!!! We were flying from Frankfurt to Barcelona then to Menorca. Our luggage was lost and we immediately took the claim up with customer service and they assured us that the luggage would be in on the next flight and delivered within 5 hours. This was a short stay of only five days, so we were thrilled that our items would be there soon. Our luggage didn't show up until day 4!!! We played cat and mouse with these people our entire vacation. Later to find out that the luggage had actually arrived on time and had been sitting at the airport, but was never delivered to us, despite our CONSTANT phone calls. Because we had no toiletries, not bathing suits, and only one pair of clothing, they assured us that whatever money we spent on these items, they would fully refund us. This trip was in May of 2008, we still have not received our refund check. I call them nearly everyday and continuously get the same answer from them, it's on the way. I just got off the phone with them about 10 minutes ago and they notified me that the check was never sent and is lost, and will take another 2-3 months to arrive!
We flew from Exeter to Palma Majorca. The plane was an MD-83.It was modern and clean. The outward flight was very good apart from sitting in the plane on the taxiway for nearly 1 hour waiting to take off.We had a cooked meal on the way out.I was very dissapointed when they make you pay for soft drinks and water(alcohol fair enough but not soft drinks)the first airline I have flown with that does this.Check-in for the flight back from Palma airport was a nightmare we got through check-in 10 minutes before the plane took off.On the way back they served a tray with a sandwich with luncheon meat in ,a sweet roll with cheese in, a chocolate wafer and a cup for coffee. Not good at all the cabin crew came around to collect the trays before some people had time to eat it, perhapes thats because they didn't want it eaten. Not many people wanted it anyway. We will use again but opt out of the in flight meal it's not worth it.
Hi all, I normally fly Iberia when in Spain or when going to Spain. Once I decided to go for Spanair on the Madrid - Barcelona route, it was cheap and I wanted to try something else. Spanair is part of the SAS Group, the Scandinavian airlines and as a result a member of Star Alliance supposedly, the best airline alliance in the world. So far so good, I also noticed that their fleet is quite heterogeneous with McDonnell Douglas, Airbus and Boeing planes. I flew in a McDonnell Douglas which was a bit odd since you board in at the very rear of the plane, and thats pretty rare. The flight was delayed to start with so we had to wait inside the plane for about 40 minutes, they kindly distributed a 25% discount voucher for the same route but they are probably aware that only a few will use it. Another odd thing was the fact that the boarding gate was very far from the actual plane, it took about 10 minutes for the bus to drop us at the feet of the plane. Not sure if its due to the fact that the Barajas airport was busy that day, so lets presume it does not happen often. Personnaly I know I will stick to Iberia next time, just too many things went wrong for my likings.
