Advantages: Fly to Lisbon
Disadvantages: Rewarding scheme not very good
I flew to Lisbon on business last week with Tap, the Portuguese airline. The
reason why I flew with them is that their fare was cheaper than BA. Check in
was very fast, but I was disappointed that they could not change me reservati
seat. I normally prefer aisles, but I had been given a window. However, I
managed to call my agent and remind them I should be given aisles and they
fixed it for the return. I did not manage to go the lounge on time and went t
the gate after shopping at the airport, the flight took off more or less on
time and we also landed on time, on the return flight there was an announced
delay of 10 min, but I think it was more 30 and we landed 15 min after
schedule. Staff welcomed us on board and made efforts to assist with hand
luggage.
I was offered uk and portuguese newspapers and there were also a
couple of magazines on board. The in flight magazine is in english and
portuguese, but I found it a bit boring. Food was better on the way back and
the wine good on both journeys. I travelled with hand luggage only, so cannot
comment on luggage delivery. At first glance their reward scheme seems less rewarding than BA, but these days it all depends on how much they charge you with extra ful charges and all that kind of stuff.
