I have flown recently from Lisbon back to London with TAP (Air Portugal). I purchased two singles with different airlines. At the check-in and I must add it was the fastest check-in I've ever experienced the lady at the desk informed me that now they have a maximum hand luggage policy of about 6kgs. As it was close to Christmas she let me take it but I would advise you all that if you flying with TAP with a small suitcase try not to go over the 6kgs weight or you might be forced to check-in your suitcase.
On the other hand I'm a frequent flyer with TAP, BA, Easyjet and so on and normally try to find the cheapest tickets at the time. TAP have come a long way and for the past 2 years they became a very competitive airline which can now offer tickets at extremely good value for money
