TAROM Romanian

Tarom is the Romanian airline and it has a relatively limited network of routes from Bucharest and within Romania. I happened to use Tarom last year since I was assigned to Romania for busines purposes, I flew to Bucharest with BA, but used Tarom internally to fly to Cluj Napoica and Sibiu. My experience is therefore limited to Tarom nationally. The flights to these 2 cities are less than one, literally the time to go up and come down. I was on about five round trip tarom flights. All were on time with decent service and food. Four flights were from New York JFK to Bucharest OTP, one from Bucharest OTP to Berlin. When flying from New York to Bucharest they are the best option. The Berlin flight was sort of expensive but had good service. The food was the best airline food I had. The movies were allways good. I believe in supporting local/national businesses and when i was going to Romania the first time i decided to fly Tarom airlines. NEVER AGAIN. British airways now fly to Bucharest and i have travelled with them on a number of occasions. The worst part of the experience for me was being vegetarian i usually suffer the perils of airline food. You know the cans of mixed vegetables you buy in the supermarket, well i got a plate of COLD mixed veg just like that and a breadroll.
