Worst flight ever (Thomas Cook Airlines)

Just come back from Gran Canaria with Thomas Cook and it was the worst flying experience of our lives to date. On the way out my husband was made to stow his laptop in the hold as it was too heavy for the cabin, but when we got on board there were people who had checked in through a different desk who had great suitcases in the cabin, larger and heavier than my husbands laptop! Additionally, our luggage collectively was well below the threshold even with the laptop. Consistency is obviously not a big point with Thomas Cook.

The flight back was so cramped it was physically uncomfortable, my husband moved seats and found that even the legroom between rows is inconsistent! I spent a good deal of time standing during the flight as I need to wear compression socks when flying and my legs tingled very uncomfortably all the way home because of the cramped conditions. I could not sleep at all on the way home but my husband managed an hour before the staff rammed a trolley into his knee, apologised in a hurry and carried on. They managed to get past him on the way up the aisle so obviously he was not protruding very far, this was just careless. The Thomas Cook staff gave the impression of being superior and smug and perhaps they would do well to remember who pays their salaries!

This was not, in my opinion, a cheap flight - we paid £400 each return for us and our two kids and the flight was considerably worse than when we went to Granada in the summer with Ryanair which cost £580 for the four of us.

I will make an effort NEVER to fly with Thomas Cook again - it was truly appalling.
