Advantages: Plenty of leg room. Personal seat back T.V
Disadvantages: Staff not replenishing soap in toilet.
We have just returned from Florida, flying with Thomas Cook airlines from Newcastle to Sanford.
I have to say I was very concerned about how comfortable I would be on a long haul flight with a company I had heard so many negative reviews.
I am 5 feet 10 inches tall, and thought my knees would be jammed into the seat in front! I am also dress size 20.
How wrong was I ?
The seat pitch was 33 inches which meant I had loads of room, I could even stretch my legs out completely under the seat in front without problem.
The seats looked like they were upholstered with leather, and although the seat pads were not very thick, the seat was much more comfortable than I expected.
The service was as you would expect, drinks had to be paid for and airline food is much of a muchness, but I don't base the quality of a flight by the food you are served. Comfort is much more important.
All of the seat backs had T.V's with a choice of films and other shorter programmes such as Fawlty Towers, Only Fools and Horses and Father Ted. My only gripe about the entertainment was that on the return journey, my 11 year old son's T.V was not working and the problem could not be rectified. We simply kept changing seats so he could view mine or my husbands set.
I had one concern regarding hygiene in the toilets. I informed a member of the cabin crew that the soap dispenser in the loo was empty.
4 hours later when we were just about to land it had still not been replenished.
There was a blanket and a pillow on every seat during the inbound overnight flight.
On the outbound flight, the crew held a quiz for the children asking them questions about Disney World. My son was delighted to win!
His prize was a plush Tigger toy valued at £10.
The Mars ice cream bar was a nice treat served free of charge.
All in all, the flight was much better than I was expecting and if the cabin crew pay attention to the minor details (soap in toilets)
I would definately fly with them again.
Summary: Would definately use airline again.
