Advantages: It didnt crash

Disadvantages: Everything else

I have just returned from a lovely one week holiday to rhodes travelling with thomas cook, unfortunately the package involved flying with what i consider now to be one of the worst airlines you can travel with...thomas cook airlines.

To begin with everything was absolutely fine, check in was efficient but unfortunately it all went downhill extremely quickly from there.

The flight was delayed by 2 hours due to a "technical issue" however, we were never told what this issue was and we were compensated in no way whatsoever, i would have at least expected a free drink.

Upon being seated in the plane it became clear from the start that something was wrong, there was a bit of a smell coming from the pouch in front of my seat which houses the flight cards and things like that. I reached in to explore to discover some monster munch, all crushed up, and a used tissue. A great way to start the flight. Upon telling the flight attendant they said they would be along after takeoff to clear it up, this never happened and i had to ask again for it to be removed.

The leg room is also absolutely pitiful on thomas cook airlines, im a regular 11stone 6ft one male and being a night flight, i wanted some sleep. This did not happen, the chair in front was so close that i had to virtually stand up to stretch my legs, meaning my head had nothing to rest on, making sleep impossible.

Whilst i know this is a problem in general with air travel, this situation was far worse than any other airline i have used, and i fly fairly regularly on airlines such as monarch, easyjet, bmi and thomson; and they have all been far superior in terms of leg space.

The rest of the flight did not improve the situation, with a poor in flight service not only in terms of entertainment but also with the standard of food and snacks being served.

I would 100 percent recommend a thomas cook holiday, just try and fly with someone else.

Summary: Avoid at all costs

OH dear what a shame. It is outrageous the way the charter airlines can get away with this.
