Advantages: plus facilities on the way there
Disadvantages: no plus facilities on the way back!
Last year, when i travelled with my family to the Dominican Republic, we flew with Thomson fly. The flight is long haul, clocking up to be about 8 hours! I had a very good experience with Thomson. On the way there, the staff were friendly and very helpful. The aircraft felt safe, and the pilot was great. We recieved some turbulence but it was not too bad.
I was slightly disapointed that you had to pay for your meal separately which was quite pricey, and most of the food on the plane was expensive as well, so to survive, really you needed to buy food at the airport, which we found slightly annoying, but it wasn't too much of a hinderance.
The in-flight entertainment was very good, there was a great choice of films and also we had access to the plus facilities such as forward and rewind, and you could watch whatever film you wanted at anytime which was excellent and made the time pass very quickly. It also meant that i forgot about the lack of food which was good.
The seats were also very comfortable, and the presentation of the aircraft was impeccable and very inviting. The landing and take off was fine, and all in all my travels on the way there was very good.
However, on the way back, the only disappointment was that we no longer had access to any of the plus facilities! Which meant you had to watch films at viewing times, and meant you could watch less films, probably two for the whole flight, compared to the four that i watched on the way there! This was very annoying indeed and their reasoning for this was that the system had been broken on the way there. We coped with it, and the rest of the flight was the same as the previous one.
We touched down in England with no problems and left the flight content.
Summary: A good flight
