I have very mixed views regarding Thomson. I flew from Doncaster Sheffield Robin Hood airport to Spain. Just after checking in I was told that the flight was delayed by three to four hours, as were all other Thomson flights from the airport due to one aircraft breaking down and delaying the entire schedule. We were at least given a voucher to spend within the airport or on flight, despite being only £3, which does not go far in an airport.
When we eventually got on the flight, it was more basic than I expected. I was aware it was a budget airline, but not that it was the equivalent to Ryanair or Easyjet; the seats were very uncomfortable and there was no entertainment by means of film or music, only a well used and dog eared magazine.
But we eventually arrived having spent little on the fare, so it is what to expect from such an airline.

Summary: Cheap and cheerful
