Advantages: Nice comfortable airline with lots of food and drink. Quite pricey?
Disadvantages: The eppisodes of tv programmes were the same on the way in as way out
Had the pleasure of flying with Virgin Atlantic from Gatwick to Orlando Florida. This was the first flight I have had with Virgin Atlantic and was very impressed. I can not comment on how much it cost as my parents paid but I believe to be slightly pricey. There was lots of staff about and where all very friendly.
The cabin - The cabin was big and spacious with a fair amount of leg room. On the back of every seat there is a TV with a selection of good films and TV programmes which is free of charge to use with free ear phones supplied, but the downside is the films and programmes start at the same time so if you fall asleep or not alert you will miss the start of the film.
The cabin crew - Lots of staff all very friendly and more than willing to help
Facilities - Lots of toilets on the plane, I counted 12 but there may have been more I didn't see. You get given a bag with some travel socks, tooth brush, tooth paste, ear phones for the TV with a pillow and a blanket.
Food and drink - Regularly the cabin crew came round with drinks free of charge. Not just water or juice but beer, wine, fizzy drinks, anything you would like for free. I had 3 cans of beer, 2 bottles of water and 3 cups of orange juice, 2 cups of tea and an ice cream on the journey on the way to Florida. For a meal we had a selection of Bbq chicken with roast potatoes and vegetable or Beef Strogonoff, I had the chicken and it was very nice with a chocolate moose for after. About an hour before we landed we also got given a choice of ham or cheese roll with a fruit salad.
The only one fault I can have with this airline is that the TV programmes on the way back were the exact same episodes as on the way out. The films changed but the TV shows didn't.
A very comfortable airline which seemed to care about their customers.
Summary: A nice comfortable airline for a long journey

- 16/03/09 I flew to Oz on a Virgina Atlantic, their IFE system is outstanding! V-link I think its called. On-demand movies, loads of interactive games, and seat-seat messaging for annoying fellow passengers! lol. |
