Virgin Atlantic has to be one of the best airlines I have ever flown with. Went on a long haul flight to Florida a couple of years ago and was very impressed with the service. Was a reasonable price which we found very competitive with other airlines, but had heard that Virgin was better service wise.

Drinks are free throughout the flight which is very good with a choice of many drinks including alcoholic. The meals we found were not too bad, I mean any meal on a plane isnt perfect, but the chicken curry I had wasnt bad. The meals wernt limited to coming in plastic containers either, we had french bread pizzas as a kind of tea time meal (difficult to set meals with time differences).

Each seat has its own seatback tv screen which on which the angle can be adjusted. It shows a good range of music, tv, movies, sports, comedy and radio stations. Some planes even have video games and on demand video letting you choose what you want to watch, when you want to watch it and pause and rewind when you like. There is a map channel on the tv which shows you information about the planes location, airspeed and height aswell as estimated arrival times which is a nice usefull touch.

Every passenger gets a free small flight bag, which is a drawstring sports kind of bag filled with socks, toothbrush, earplugs and other little useful items. Kids also get their own bag with activities such as colouring, small toys and useful holiday sunglasses!

Overall, a great airline with friendly and helpful staff. Will probably use Virgin next time we go to America!
