Advantages: Good service and does not cost the earth
Disadvantages: The entertainment system could do with upgrading
Virgin Atlantic is a British airline owned by Sir Richard Branson's Virgin Group and Singapore Airlines. The airline operates between the United Kingdom and North America, the Caribbean, Africa, the Middle East, Asia, and Australia, Virgins main bases in the uk are London Heathrow, London Gatwick and Manchester Airport. On June 22, 1984 Virgin Atlantic operated its inaugural flight between Gatwick and Newark using a leased Boeing 747-200.
I have been using Virgin Atlantic for years to travel from London to Orlando. I must have been on over 30 flights on this route and have seen the franchise change over the years. I will review this route.
The flight goes from Gatwick daily and operates 1 to 3 flights depending on the season. The planes that fly this route are all Boeing 747's and all have individual seat back TV's. The entertainment on the flights are normally very good with them showing just released films, children's TV, comedy channels and music. The only problem they have is that the system is getting very old and some screens are worse that others and need upgrading.
Economy is the standard coach class of Virgin Atlantic. The flight includes free meals and drinks for all passengers. Seats have a maximum seat pitch of 31 in.
Premium Economy has a wider seat with more legroom than Economy, and additional cabin services such as a pre-flight drink and dedicated cabin crew.
Upper Class is the equivalent of business class on all Virgin Atlantic flights. The Upper Class seat is claimed by the airline to be the biggest fully flat bed of any airline's business class service (it is approximately 202 cm long and 84 cm wide)
The food on the flight is normally good but you can get a duff meal from time to time. You always get a chicken, beef or veggie meal offered.
I would recommend Virgin to people and I find they always are the cheapest. A flight to Orlando normally cost us £350 return but we do get it in the sale.
Summary: Best Airline i have been on
