I have flewn twice with Virgin Airlines and wanted to say what a great service it was. The plane was a 747 which had Nintendos built into each seatto keep you occupied during the flight.There was a great range of movies.and you could also make telephone calls from your seat! There was enough leg room and I'm 6ft2 .You are given a great little travel pack which has ear plugs, eye covers, postcards, toothbrush, socks, pens, notepaper, all in a Virgin Bag. The food was good(for airline food) and you had a choice of dishes. The cabin staff were very helpful. On the way back over The Rockies we experienced a bit of turbulance, which really terrified me, but the hostess assured me that this was moderate turbulance and not to worry too much. So I give a thumbs up to Virgin and I have used them for my next flight to Florida in three weeks time.

Well, after one of my opnions saying how fabulous Virgin was, I have experienced the opposite on this trip back from Miami. I had been on a cruise and at the end of the cruise I had to fly back from Miami Airport. I was told I could check in around 12.45pm for the 6 oclock flight.The check in desk never opened until 1.30pm and when I got to the desk I was told the flight would be delayed by 5 hours. I was given $15 food vouchers and 10% of future flights (not likely now). So, I checked in my luggage and I had previously requested seats with extra leg room which I was assured I had as I am Over 6'2". 11 oclock arrived during which time Miami experienced a thunder storm. I boarded the plane, only to find NO extra leg room. The plane was really old, the seats were broken,I couldnt even watch TV because the guy in front of me reclined his chair and the TV screen was an old non adjustable type, the engine noise was so loud I never heard one announcement by the cabin staff or captain. The cabin staff looked about 17years old and were really bad at the safety checks. Some over head lokers were not closed properly and
even at take off some people had their dinner tables down. Anyway, surprisingly, I made it across the Atlantic. At Gatwick when the luggage came around the carousel, water was pouring out of peoples cases!!! Obviously, in Miami the cases had been left out in the thunder storm.

I am now seeking compensation for suits & luggage ruined and will not use Virgin again.
