Advantages: in-flight entertainment, food selection & Goodie bag, friendly service

Disadvantages: hmmm had to stop playing nintendo during take off and descent!!!

Whilst planning a trip to New York City earlier this year, I decided to opt for one of two airline companies, seeing as it was a 7 hour flight! It was between British Airway s and Virgin Atlantic.

On recommendation from friends we opted for Virgin in Economy Class. And boy am I glad we did!

The in-flight entertainment was excellent. With mini-tv screens on the back of the chair in front of you, you could choose from approx 8 movies to watch. On my flight we had choices from films such as, Traffic, What Women Want, Gregory's Girl and Quills. There was something for every one. Not only this they provided a selection of TV style channels with comedy shows, factual programmes, music related items plus an array of radio style stations.

And as if you thought this was enough! There was a Nintendo, yes Nintendo games console built into your seat with a large selection of games! How cool is that! Although only the original NES games, but still highly entertaining, I think only a classic Atari would have beaten the fun I had!!!!

Ok enough of my raving about the in-flight entertainment. Now for the goodie bag. On each seat there was a clear plastic duffle bag and inside in funky colours of luminous pink, green and blue was earplugs, toothbrush and toothpaste, blindfold, socks, lip moisturiser, wet wipe, tissues, note pad (great for noughts and crosses). All this for free (well as free as it can be when you've shelled out the cost of the ticket!)

All the in-flight attendants were very helpful, you did not have to wait long between meals and drinks etc. The meal selection was very good, giving a vegetarian option and a choice of two meat dishes.

On another long flight like that I know who i will be flying with!!!

Oh yeah and I didn't book directly with Virgin I opted for a agent who was advertising cheaper tickets, which I believe were around 1/2 price!!

I didn't experience a
ny delays whatsover on both my outbound and inward journey!
