I have flown with Virgin Atlantic a couple of times, but on business. Those occasions I did not have a choice but did not particularly enjoy it. I have just returned from New York and vow never to fly with them again. We flew to JFK on their smaller aircraft, the Airbus A340. These are not as roomy inside as the Boeing 747, but are ok for ... gave Virgin 4.5 stars-very good as it was the best RETURN Economy class trip I've been on. (see my BA review)but there is always room for more cosy seats and a tad more legroom! But I gave my BA flight 4 stars and Virgin was better than that. Anyone my trip started at London Heathrow. I was on my way to Hong Kong as an Unaccompanied ... Read the complete review

I always try to fly Virgin Atlantic if I can, but often their prices are a lot more expensive than other airlines and so more often than not, I can’t justify the extra cost. I’ve flown with them on 2 separate occasions, once from Gatwick to Miami (April 2000) and the other was from Heathrow to New York JFK (December 2000) and on ... Read the complete review

Those of you who have read some of my other opinions on DooYoo will know I am a seasoned Delta flyer to the USA. However, a year or two back I was presented with a situation where Virgin may have been able to help me out. In the early hours of an August Sunday morning I was woken by a panic phone call from a relative in ... Read the complete review

Long flights are not something to look forward to, especially when you have noisy kids and a fear of flying! Being a little frightened of flying, and having having my ears pop constantly throughout the flight, as well as having to go without a cigarette for 9 and half hours, you can see why I was not too keen on the idea. I was ... Read the complete review

Having travelled with Virgin Atlantic in all 3 of their classes, they are without a doubt the best airline. My most recent trip with them was on September 15th from Miami to London. Considering events of that week the flight was only delyed a mere 30mins. Once on board we were tolded that the entertainment system had failed - none of ... Read the complete review

I've flown virgin atlantic so many times...I'm a mile collector! I was first inticed to fly them after a friend boasted about on-board video games. Being someone who easily bores on long rides, this sounded like a great idea. From the moment you get on the plane they really pull out all the stops... First you get a bag ... I recently flew to New York on Virgin Atlantic and was dreading flying long haul for the first time. However, I was pleasently surprised by the service on this flight and the way it was organised. The airplane itself was clean and tidy and they provided us with blankets and pillows as well as a bag full of goodies! This included ... Read the complete review

Having travelled to San Francisco on numerous occasions with a couple of different airlines, I can say that Virgin has been the best experience I have had so far on a plane. If price is permitting, and usually there isn't much between Virgin and BA, I would always choose Virgin. I am in my mid twenties and I really appreciate the less formal ... Read the complete review

Whilst planning a trip to New York City earlier this year, I decided to opt for one of two airline companies, seeing as it was a 7 hour flight! It was between British Airway s and Virgin Atlantic. On recommendation from friends we opted for Virgin in Economy Class. And boy am I glad we did! The in-flight entertainment was ... Read the complete review

So you fancy a break, perhaps the sunny coast of Spain or a Greek island but then again maybe something with a bit more class? Well for a variety of reasons I hit upon the bright lights and 24hr style of New York! Great, but wait only one small problem, I had only recently got back from the worst plane journey of my life courtesy of ... Read the complete review

I went to the states on a fly drive on April 1st 2001. We were flying Virgin Atlantic as our companions were collecting the air-miles, not because of price. I must admit the check-in at London Heathrow was a doddle and we timed it just right before the queing started, (4 hours before the flight). We boarded on time but were ... Read the complete review

I am not going to witter on just to make this lengthy - I'll simply tell you the way it is clearly and simply. Virgin Atlantic was a superb way to travel in all the following ways (and more): 1. I just can't get enough of that big olde jumbo swaying from side to side and coming in for a landing!! In other words I am a Virgin Junky... Flying Virgin is great!, there are several things that make Virgin Atlantic different from other airlines. The main feature of Virgin Atlantic, is that you have seat back tv monitors in the back of every seat meaning everyone has there own choice of entertainment. I know many others are doing this now, but Virgin pioneered this in ... Read the complete review

The first time we used Virgin Atlantic was at the insistence of our kids - they'd heard about the seat back videos. We now wouldn't use any other airline to USA by choice. We now prebook the seats, which you can do 180 days before the flight. There are four of us, and we've found that at the back of the 747 there are a few ... Read the complete review

2002 additional info On our 2002 holiday to California we again flew Virgin and as a treat for ourselves booked Premium Economy, which we had never done before.
