In mid august this year i flew out with my family to alicante airport on a virgin sun plane. This was a two and a half hour flight. The staff onbaord of the plane were very kind to all the passengers and served everyone kindly and efficiently. This was one of the good points of the journey. Also the entertainment on board was very good because you could watch the television or read the days newspapers on board which were handed out just before you boarded the plane. I have flown with many airlines in my time and I would say that Virgin Sun is the second best charter airline in the world, behind Brittania. The food and Cabin crew are very helpful and polite and the flights are usually punctual. The seats are very cramped however which is the only bad thing about Virgin Sun. The food is very good and the entertainment is also very good, one of the only charters to give you free head phones. It is a very good charter airline but you can't compare charters with the likes of BA. ...  Read the complete review

We flew Virgin Sun to Minorca this summer with 2 children (5 & 9) and thought the service was excellent. Considering the reasonable price paid for the holiday we were delighted with the flights, accommodation and especially the children's club at the resort which was excellent. The only negative aspect were a long check in on the way home - but I think this was to do with the size of the airport in Minorca rather than Virgin. My only negative comment on the flights were the terrible jokes the Captain and/or Cabin Crew kept making! ...  Read the complete review

Cramped, rished, badly organised check-in. Who am I describing? Most package holiday flights, really. VirginSun are no exception. Their saving grace is that the staff are polite, the service efficent and the food semi-edible. They got me to Crete and back safely. I'm not sure I'd want to fly any further than that in such a small plane, but I don't think they do go any further. I'd love for an airline to make a stand and put an extra inch or two between the seats. VirginSun do offer some seats like that, but I was unable to get one on my flight with them due to oversubscription. ...  Read the complete review

Virgin Sun - a disappointing experience (245 words)

Earlier this year my daughter and her husband flew to New York with Virgin Atlantic and so when I found that our flights to Minorca were with Virgin I was expecting an enjoyable flight. Virgin Sun is however a completely different kettle of fish. Our experience at check in was of a somewhat disorganised operation where although we had reserved seats the check in operator had to struggle to find seats where we were all together. I put this down to the systems failure they had just experienced and forgot about it until our return trip when we ended up having to wait until all the other passengers had booked in before they were able to allocate us seats ...  Read the complete review
