2 Days Late... Hardly "Whizzing" Anywhere! (Wizz Air)

Advantages: Nice seat, cheap.

Disadvantages: Very unreliable.

As a regular user of budget airlines, I've come to expect most things on cheap trips to the continent. Like anything else in life, you generally get what you pay for. Budget airlines usually offer a no-frills service, that whilst may not be particularly comfortable or fancy, does at least get you where you need to be. Wizz Air didn't even manage this!

I had the priviledge of being invited to spend Christmas in Poland with my Girlfriend's family this year. I made the outward journey by minibus, but needed to fly back to make sure I was back in England for work on December 29th.

So I booked a flight home with "Wizz Air" from Katowice to Stansted at a travel agents in Poland, and was delighted to have got a seat on a plane back on the 28th for just over £50.

On arrival at the airport on the 28th, things seemed to be progressing as normal, checked in, went through security, and took a seat in the area by the gate.

Boarding time came and went, no announcements were made. About 15 minutes later an announcement finally came through - the flight was cancelled and passengers should report to a desk on the other side of the airport to make alternative arrangements.

After an hour of waiting, I finally got to speak to a representative, who told me that they could not get me a flight to England until the 30th, and that was to Luton, not Stansted! No apology was made.

So along came the 30th, and finally I got to board a Wizz air flight to England. It was diverted on the way, adding an hour to the journey, as another Wizz Air flight had broken down at another airport and we needed to take an engineer to fix it! Being positive for a moment - the plane itself was actually quite comfortable, and there was a little more leg room than I'm used to on budget flights.

So overall, comfortable seat, cheap ticket... But got me home a couple of days late.... to the wrong airport.

Summary: 2 days late home, and 2 the wrong airport. Avoid.
