Advantages: Cheap great service comfortable airline
Disadvantages: This carrier has now stopped flying and has gone bust
My wife and I were gutted when Zoom went bust.
This was our Airline of choice when flying from London to Vancouver in Canada.
You would label Zoom as a budget airline and to be fair it was the prices were very reasonable, but the service and comfort I received as a passenger was far from what you would expect from a budget carrier.
I were travelling with a young baby at the time and the staff were engaging with us and went out of there way to ensure we had everything and we were settled down before everyone else boarded.
It is really disappointing that Zoom didn't survive the financial crisis's this operator easily stood its ground regarding customer service with the larger more established airline like Virgin and BA
The airline was French Canadian so all the safety briefings were in English and French which felt a little weird but something that I easily got used to.
My wife and I managed to fly with Zoom three times before they went bust and on each occasion the service was very good and the food is pretty good as well.
Now I know airline food gets a pretty bad press but I'm in the minority as I love it I cant wait to peel of the hot dish to see what I have as your never really sure until you see for yourself
I hope that other airlines have taken the crews on as they would add real value to other carriers
My wife and I travelled on Zoom for the below reasons
The price was cheap and if you booked really early you could travel between London and Vancouver really cheaply. I think the cheapest we managed to get there was about 180 pounds each
The Customer service was very good the staff appeared to enjoy there job and the interaction between staff and customer didn't seem forced in anyway
The aircraft was comfortable and the staff had baby equipment on-board to aid parents travelling with young children/babies
To conclude the world has lost a good airline that priced itsself to the majority but gave extraordinary service
Summary: This airline holds a soft spot for me the servce and people were great worth every penny
