Advantages: Clean and modern, only one terminal.

Disadvantages: Shops etc in departures.

I had ocassion to use Adelaide airport when I visited Australia not too long ago.

They only had one terminal so it was easy for my friends, who picked me up, to get to the airport and arrive in the right place- not like it is at Heathrow for example, where you have to know where you're going!

Terminal 1 has three levels, 0, 1 and 2. I arrived at Level 0 and did not use the other levels because I was meeting friends and wanted to get out of the airport to see them. I did not fly back through this airport as I went overland for the next part of my journey.

I was very impressed with the style of the airport. It is very modern and everything inside is so clean. I didn't use the facilites so I can't comment on them, but they were signposted which is useful.

There are some seats in the arrivals area and I sat down and waited for my friends. Whilst I was there I had to ask one of the staff a question and she was very friendly.

Although I did not use it, I noted that there was a bus station so if I hadn't been lucky enough to be picked up, then I could have taken a bus.

I saw at least one ATM and used this to withdraw money without any problems.

I think that most of the shops and services are on the departures floor, which I understand because that is where people wait, and people don't normally wait in arrivals, at least not for long.

Overall this was a pleasant airport to use!

Summary: A nice place to fly in to.
