If you are a person who likes to get away from the hectic areas around your gate, you can usually walk a few gates over and rest somewhere while waiting. If they call your flight for boarding, don't rush to the front of the queue, you're just going to be spending more time on the plane waiting around and then you'll be the one that can't wait to get off. Just take it easy sit at the gate until the last person in the queue, that way most people have put their bags away. In security mak... more

Tips when going to the airport: Try and take a teabag, that way if you can't afford the high prices (Like me sometimes) I just ask them if I can use my tea bag in their hot water. Some are ok about it. I did that at manchester once. Basically just beware that airports have Fast Food outlets at Restaurant prices, I'm not talking about BK but those that look similar to a cafe, they will charge alot. However they can be a bit of a pain , especially since the tighter restrictions were put in place last year . We flew out to Madeira last year on September 11th and security was a nightmare . I find I am always torn between a rock and a hard place with my views on security . Obviously we all want safe travel but of course we like a little freedom also . However since the episode at Glasgow airport recently it makes me more aware than ever that travelling can be perilous these days . Then again so can life . This years holiday approaches and as ...  Read the complete review

I've booked a holiday to Egypt in September, but Egyptair only flies from Heathrow. So what to do? Many people find themselves in this position, no doubt, and if they live in the Southeast, no problem. I live near Manchester, so I have several options. One option is to travel the day before the flight, stay overnight in a hotel and take its courtesy bus to the airport. If you drive, they will even keep your car in their carpark - cost £120-140. You could travel directly by train - but don't! The journey time from where I live is a little over 5 hours and the cost will be about £90-120, as a cheap return is unavailable! So, what about flying from Manchester ...  Read the complete review
