Advantages: Smallish so easy to navigate

Disadvantages: Long lines, few toilets

I have only flown into BWI, having always flown out from Dulles instead. Arrivals at this airport function adequately, and the experiences are fine - but nothing special.

The immigration queus at BWI are, as is usual in the US, very slow moving for international visitors. There is a warning before joining the line that there are no toilets from that point - so my recommendation is to use to plane toilets before you get off. That would usually be the last thing in the world I would think to recommend, but if you dont you either end up at the back of the line of travellers, or having to wait until you reach your final destination.

Public Transport into DC is pretty easy - even though you have to use a bus and subway train. There were plenty of taxi's, or it is always easy to hire a car and drive in the States.

An average airport experience - mostly domestic, and not quite to the scale of other international USA airports, eg JFK, LAX and Dulles
