Belfast International is the airport I frequent most often; I have probably flown through here close to 100 times and each and every time I've had a pleasant experience.

The airport is a rather small but not altogether insignificant airport serving as home to a number of low cost airlines flying to everywhere from Rome to New York. It's location is convenient for most of the country, but unfortunately transport links between the airport and Belfast city are poorly advertised (if advertised at all?) and you can't help but feel stranded when looking to leave the place. This is somewhat made up for by the number of rental agencies nearby.

When going through the airport however the experience is a pleasant one. Check in is usually easy and hassle free with friendly staff, but it does feel a bit empty at times. After that it's on to a little cafe area with a good selection of grub, but it is, as with most airports, rather expensive.
Security is understandably strict given the country's past, but this amounts to no more than taking off your shoes and belt - a minor inconvenience for your safety.
Prior to boarding you'll enter a shopping area with a wide range of goods (again at expensive airport prices). There's the opportunity to knock back a final pint, buy a book for boarding or grab something Irish to impress your mates. Unfortunately the toilets in this area are hard to find, but are usually very clean when finally found. The biggest problem are roving credit card salesmen and women who can be annoyingly persistent.
